is expensive to buy, to design, to proof test and expensive to
maintain. HAZ1508, the award winning HAZOP software from Rowan
House, enables the user to identify potential Safety Critical
Instruments and optimise the other possible layers of safety so as
to minimise the number of high-cost safety critical loops under BS
EN 61508.
Risk graphs specific to your use can be installed into the
HAZ1508 software that allows the HAZOP secretary to automatically
calculate the potential SIL ("Safety Integrity Level") for a safety
loop if the design is left unaltered.
HAZ1508 also allows the risk graph to be adjusted and
calibrated. The risk graph from BS EN 61508 part 5 Table D is the
default graph built into the software.
HAZ1508 has already been used by the Water Industry to minimise
expensive SIL safety critical loops from their processes as have
Chemical industry and MDF industry clients.
HAZ1508 also puts on record all your Non-SIL safety critical
loops. Since, in a good design, this is more than 90% of all the
